Hey there! I’m nothing without Jesus’ ever present help. Wooh! I’m glad I got that out there on the onset. From a young age I knew him as real and active, a faithful friend. During some tumultuous teenage years involving an eating disorder, my mother’s cancer diagnosis and then the passing of her and both grandparents before the of 16, I learned to run to Him with every heartache and struggle. Through my own grief counseling and theophostic healing prayer sessions, combined with a radical deliverance from depression, I was set on fire to help others meet Jesus the way I had.
Psalm 40 was actually performed before my very eyes in my own life as a teen.
"I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, Out of the mud and mire, He set my feet upon a rock And gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord."
The firm footing and the new song in my mouth that I experienced, would propel me into many different spheres of Christian ministry.
My coaching and writing seeks to help God’s people process the discovery of our true selves, who we really are in Christ, and who He really is in us. Through the struggle we are learning to grow everything in our lives out of that reality with the hope that we might faithfully display His Kingdom to our desperate world.
Bio
I grew up in Virginia and South Carolina in a loving Christian home. I lost my mother to brain cancer when I was 15 years old, which proved to be a catalyst for deep spiritual growth as I cried out to God in all my grief and sorrow. As the Lord lifted me out of depression, He filled me with an intense desire to go into the mission field of this world to bear witness to Jesus and the hope and glory found in His love.
I attended James Madison University, where I intended to obtain a degree in English and get equipped to teach English in China for the rest of my life as a single missionary. God had other plans. I ended up falling in love with my best friend and roommate’s older brother, a stud named Danny Iverson and then getting married at the beginning of my senior year of college. I became pregnant with our first child before I managed to walk the platform with a diploma in my hand…
Shortly after graduating we were called to Newark, NJ, where we helped restart a church (that had previously died due to the hard and dangerous neighborhood) and start a nonprofit organization for the youth of the community. After five years of laboring there, and 3.5 kids later (we were pregnant with #4), God called us to pack up and study at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL, where we could get better equipped for long-term inner-city ministry.
We reside with our nine kids in Stone Mountain Georgia, where we are helping birth new expressions of Christ’s Church all around Atlanta.
I love kids and have a heart to see them know and love God through His Word. I enjoy teaching my children, Daniel Josiah, Trinity, Katy-Grace, Benjamin Zion, Malachi, Judah and Gwennalyn, Joel and Hope about their Maker and Redeemer. Our kids are my greatest disciples. My passion is to see the Name of Jesus exalted in dark places (including my own heart!), and to see the lost redeemed by the power of the Risen Christ.

You are not alone. You are seen. You are heard. You are loved.
Kimberly helped me through a crisis and brought the hope and light of the gospel in my darkness. She listened with empathy and created a safe space for me to share and not feel judged. She allowed me to express the depth of my emotions and then guided me gently to Jesus’ love and the truth of the gospel. Kimberly has a humble approach. Rather than giving advice, she asked questions and helped guide me out of false beliefs and into the truth. She also gave me practical steps to take towards healing. I highly recommend Kimberly to those in crisis, to anyone wanting to grow in their walk with Jesus, and to anyone feeling stuck in their circumstances and needing help moving forward.

I can't tell you how much peace that our conversation and our time of prayer brought me last week. I've felt more grounded and have been doing exactly what you suggested and stop and pray each time I feel anxious or bitter or worried and it has been so powerful. Thank you, thank you for your wisdom.

“I am so thankful I met Kimberly - for her wisdom and partnership in prayer through all the directions of life and for her humor, true love for others, and full and all in heart for the Lord. Thank you, Kimberly, for increasing my connection to all that’s true and good and for your friendship and mentorship that I treasure! She was so curious to know me and my heart, to listen and encourage, to help me discover, to trust with me, and to speak truth and life in every place. Walking next to Kimberly feels like the kind of relationship the Lord rejoices in - one that brings Him worship and honor. Iron sharpening iron.”
